Want to give us your printing data and have questions about file formats, printing procedures and other things? Below we have summarized the most frequently asked questions about our printing services.
1. How do I submit my printing data to PRECISION PRINTING?
You can send us your data by e-mail to preprinting@comcast.net or bring in a USB Flash Drive.
2. What data format should my data be in?
PDF format is ideal for printing. Vector based art is preferred.
For photo prints we recommend the formats JPG, PSD, or TIFF.
3. What resolution do I need for best quality prints?
We recommend a resolution of 300 dpi. Pictures & logos copied from a website are usually low resolution at 72 or 96 dpi and may print pixelated therefore not high quality. All photos and images should be saved as CMYK files as RGB may not print properly.
In individual cases, a lesser resolution may suffice.
4. Can I review my data on a PC before it is printed?
As an extra convenience for our customers, we always send pdf proofs before sending your job to print.
5. Why do the printed colors look different from the colors on my screen?
Printers & monitors display colors in different ways. Monitors use RGB color model, which usually supports a larger spectrum of colors.
Printers use CMYK model, which can reproduce most colors in the RGB model, but not all.
CMYK generally matches 85% to 90% of the colors in the RGB model.
